As you are all aware the hospitality industry is facing significant challenges in the face of rising costs.

We are no different, we need to find more and more just to stand still. Increasing utilities, wages, VAT, taxes, food prices, beer prices etc..

We are sorry to say that due to these rising costs and for personal health reasons we are no longer able to operate the Eagle and Sun.

Jon and will welcomeWe would like to thank the wonderful staff and customers that have supported us on our journey and we would reassure you that we are working with the brewery to identify new operators for the pub.

This journey has already begun an we would hope that the Eagle and Sun will soon be welcoming new publicans.

In the heart of the beautiful Worcestershire Countryside, The Eagle and Sun sits on the banks of the Worcester & Birmingham Canal adjacent to the Droitwich Canal Junction and just a mile or so from the historic spa town of Droitwich.

You can't miss it, follow sign posts to "Hanbury Hall" along Hanbury Road (the Saltway Roman Road) and you will find us on the right.

Although it is not clear exactly when the Eagle and Sun was built it is believed to have been in the 1830’s. The Pub which is also alongside the Saltway Roman road, is considered therefore to be approaching 200 years old but its exact date is unknown. From maps of the period it would appear that it was not documented in 1831, but appears in the 1879 revision.


We have sourced the finest and freshest ingredients, and have relaunched the famous carvery and a fully redesigned a la carte menu that includes:

  • PLUS the Famous Eagle and Sun Carvery available 7 days a week.

You can dine and watch the Narrow Boats go by on the side of the Worcester - Birmingham canal, which is well known for its locks, 58 in all climbing 428 feet from the level of the River Severn in Worcester up to Birmingham.
